The Night Owl's Moon

A night owl sits in a
lonely cave. Only a mirror
shows her reality
away from the
world she created.

Her love is the Moon.
So far, yet so
close, she can almost
embrace him. Without her mouse
to take her, she has traveled
back to reality.

Her cave is cold,
a blanket of night
cannot warm her, and
pillows of dreams
only take her farther
from her Love's light.

She can see the Moon
through her window
and past the peach tree.
He can almost embrace
her. He loves her.
She is only an owl
in a cave of lies and thoughts
of Hoo, Hoo, Hoo.

She remembers the time
when she finally
embraced her Moon
with a blanket of night
to warm them both.

I can see the stars,
My Moon.
Hoo, Hoo, Hoo.

And she drifted away
into the stars...
